Overall responsibilities
The Outreach and Interpreter Volunteer will perform the following tasks:
- Assist the MEAL and Capacity Building officer during the implementation of a self-assessment exercise targeting selected Community Based Organizations (CBOs),
- Conduct translations between Arabic and English, when necessary, of both documents and in-person meetings with projects partners,
- Assist the MEAL and Capacity Building Officer in the course of interviews and focus groups discussions with CBOs managers, staff and beneficiaries,
- Assist the MEAL and Capacity Building officer in the analysis and reviewing of CBOs organizational documents as well as analysis and reviewing of interviewees’ answers,
- In coordination with the MEAL and Capacity Building officer and the Admin and Finance Officer, assist in the organization of the logistics of all activities and field visits.
Requirements
Knowledge/Experience
Volunteer must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and to establish positive relationships with people at all levels; to show sensitivity and integrity. In addition, the volunteer must be skilled in the use of Spreadsheets, Word processing, calendar, e-mail and data entry.
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills: be able to clearly articulate information in both English and Arabic.
- Organizational Skills: be able to develop and respect work plans, to manage time effectively, to meet deadlines and plan field visits.
- Interpersonal Skills: be sensitive to the local context and able to build positive relationships with project beneficiaries.
