Background
Save the Children’s experience delivering transferrable life skills support to youth and demonstrates that these are essential skills across many domains, including seeking employment. In addition to building these participants’ human capital, delivery of this skill set has also improved their social capital and social integration in targeted communities, as well as guided individual participants to improve their self-awareness, articulate their ambitions, and work towards their goals. Transferrable life skills and guidance from mentors and coaches, including from peers, strengthens their social skills, self-confidence, job seeking, and their successful transition to the workforce as well as within their household.
Scope of the consultancy
The consultant is a national expert, ideally from the private sector, or an educator with a background in private sector HR. The consultant will design or refine existing training curriculum for Youth Facilitators to be peer guidance counsellors on various topics linked with transferrable skills, job seeking, and succeeding on the job. The consultant will then deliver a Training of Trainers (TOT) to Save the Children (SC) and local implementing partners, to enable them to deliver training directly to the Youth Facilitators. In addition, the consultant is expected to provide high level support to SC and advisory services to implementing partners before, during, and after training delivery. Participants in the training will be SC field staff, and the field staff of three local partners.

- Lead on quality design for TOT for Youth Facilitators.
- Ensure that training participants are adequately prepared to deliver training directly to Youth Facilitators.
Required competencies
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- The selected candidate will have an advanced experience in career or guidance counselling, human resources, or learning and development, ideally in private sector or educational environments, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Strong experience in delivering TOT to multicultural attendees.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, demonstrated ability of making effective presentations to diverse attendees. Fluency in both English and Arabic.
- Knowledge and experience in working with NGOs for at least 3 years, including excellence in monitoring and reporting.
- Experience in development, design, and facilitation of experiential TOT programs to frontline staff.
- Experience with implementing participatory monitoring and evaluation techniques is highly desirable.
