Search first worked in Lebanon in 1996, addressing multiple issues arising within Lebanon's diverse society. Summary of Position
The Project Officer – Local Dialogue Facilitation will assist in the management of a 21 months project that aims to promote social cohesion amongst and between host communities and refugees in Lebanon. This aim is informed by two specific objectives:
Cultivate collaborative and positive dialogues and narratives amongst and between host communities and refugees in target communities across Lebanon.
Shift public perceptions towards greater trust and respect amongst and between host communities and refugees in target communities across Lebanon.
The Project Officer will support the Project Manager while working closely with community stakeholders and local authorities and assist in the day-to-day operations and implementation of the project’s activities focusing on dialogue sessions and local initiatives at the community level.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Project Manager and other project staff on the implementation of the project.
- Conduct local analysis at the community level in operation areas.
- Assist in executing project activities focusing on dialogue and initiatives at the community level in a timely manner, ensuring good quality action and credible outcomes.
- Assist in the planning for workshops, dialogue sessions, and other project events and activities as needed.
- Ensure financial compliance with Search’s policies and procedures.
- Maintain project records such as databases, reports and records of decisions.
- Support in the reporting on project activities focusing on local dialogue ensuring timely grant reporting and compliance with contract and donor guidelines in coordination with consortium partners.
As job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the position-holder may be required to undertake other duties that are broadly in line with the above key responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Development, Political Science, International Affairs, Social Sciences, or other relevant subject.
- Minimum of three years of related experience in project implementation and dialogue facilitation.
- Experience working on host community, refugees issues is a major asset.
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.
- Spoken and written fluency in English and Arabic
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to-detail.
