Search for Common Ground (Search) is a non-governmental organization working to transform the way the world deals with conflict. Search first worked in Lebanon in 1996, addressing multiple issues arising within Lebanon's diverse society. Summary of Position
The Project Officer will assist in the management of a 9 months project that aims to promote the collaboration between Syrian Civil Society actors and strengthen the capacities of Syrian agents of change in mediation and conflict resolution.
The Project Officer will support the Project Manager while working closely with relevant stakeholders, and assist in the day-to-day operations and implementation of the project’s activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Project Manager and other project staff on the implementation of the project.
- Assist in executing project activities in a timely manner, ensuring good quality action and credible outcomes.
- Assist in the planning for workshops, trainings, and other project events and activities, as needed.
- Ensure financial compliance with Search’s policies and procedures.
- Maintain project records such as databases, reports and records of decisions.
- Support in the reporting on project activities, ensuring timely grant reporting and compliance with contract and donor guidelines in coordination with the consortium partners.
- Collaborate with Search finance team in order to fulfill payments and other project expenditure.
- Cooperate closely with the Logistics & Project team to ensure that all financial transactions are accurate and well documented.
- Ensure financial necessary prior arrangements are made for activities and assist with all other matters related to the project as needed for Finance and Administration.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Development, Political Science, International Affairs, Social Sciences, or other relevant subject.
- Minimum of three years of related experience in project implementation.
- Familiarity with the Syrian conflict and civil society networks.
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.
- Spoken and written fluency in English and Arabic.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to-detail.
