ECE Facilitators - Aakkar

Project Introduction:

As part of Al Fayhaa Association collaboration with the International Rescue Committee (IRC), an Early Childhood Education program will be implemented in Akkar Governorates that seeks to provide disadvantage children aged between 4 and 6 years old with critical pre-literacy, pre-numeracy and STEAM classes in child-friendly spaces. The project aims to enhance the knowledge and well-being of children through quality academic and recreational activities, preparing them for future enrolment/integration in formal classes.

Major Responsibilities of facilitators:

• Organize and deliver courses
• Teach according to the curriculum and different learning materials when needed
• Assign and correct assessments
• Maintain classroom organization and discipline.
• Attend regular meetings when needed
• Prepare classroom and coursework materials, homework assignments, and handouts
• Participate in ongoing training sessions if present
• Work with project/education coordinators to ensure initiatives are being met
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
• Perform any other related tasks
• Accompany children in bus or in extra curricula activity
• Create positive learning environment

Job Requirements

Academic Qualifications

• University degree or TS in Early Childhood Education, education or any relevant field

Professional Experience

• 1 to 2 years of experience in teaching or education
• Experience in developing lesson plans and classroom programs
• Experience in classroom management
• Experience in working with vulnerable individuals

Skills

• Good communication skills with the ability to listen actively, understand and communicate with children and staff
• Strong organization and teamwork skills
• Approachable and has the ability to maintain confidentiality
• Good cultural awareness and interpersonal skills
• Must be capable in teaching in Arabic and either English or French (both spoken and written)
