Duties and Responsibilities

This post will develop and pursue a programme of research into prosperity, well-being and inclusive growth in Lebanon and the UK and to contribute to the development of the RELIEF Centre and the Institute of Global Prosperity, including involvement in outreach programmes, impact activities and academic publications. The position will be at the cutting edge of data management and analysis, so these skills will be essential.

The postholder will conduct significant and original research in collaboration with the Principal Investigator of the RELIEF Centre and colleagues on Research Theme 2 (reworking Universities’ role in innovation and the creation of value for citizen well-being). This research will involve collaboration with research colleagues in the RELIEF Centre and the IGP to ensure and maximise cross-theme working, data collection and analysis, curation of the datasets in collaboration with the data manager for the RELIEF Centre and colleagues in the Institute for Global Prosperit,y and assessment of data flows for hypothesis testing with a repertoire of models, simulations, visualisation and (policy) decision support methods in an evolutionary framework.

The post is funded from ESRC and is for eighteen months in the first instance.

Key Requirements

A good first degree (2:1 or above), together with a doctorate in a discipline relevant to the Institute for Global Prosperity’s interests and the research of the RELIEF Centre. 

The successful postholder will be skilled in both quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis and interpretation and have excellent writing and presentation skills for promoting and reporting on research. S/he will enjoy working as part of a diverse time on a project with international partners.
