Protection Assistant (Community Engagement)

About the job

Under the supervision of the Protection Officer (Community Engagement), the Protection Assistant (Community Engagement) will be responsible for running and supervising the day-to-day activities of Solidarity Initiatives and mobile safe spaces in Tripoli.

Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Support in the identification of new neighborhood group members upon need and conduct meetings with neighborhood groups and draft minutes of meeting
  • Lead the implementation of neighborhood group members’ capacity building plan to identify protection challenges and draft Solidarity Initiatives
  • Lead the outreach process to engage relevant beneficiaries in the Solidarity Initiatives activities, in line with the criteria defined in the proposal
  • Ensure an efficient engagement of Persons with Disabilities in the Solidarity Initiatives activities
  • Supervise and monitor the implementation of Solidarity Initiatives in various locations while ensuring proper consistency with initial proposal and beneficiaries’ target
  • Follow up on beneficiaries’ attendance and collect their feedback on the activities provided and ensure that all spaces where activities are implemented meet interagency standards for mobile safe spaces
  • Responsible of developing and filing all documents related to the Solidarity Initiatives (attendance sheets, minutes of meetings, Solidarity Initiative proposal and final report, beneficiaries’ files, reports, pictures etc.)
  • Set the daily/weekly/monthly work plan, in coordination with the Protection Officer (Community Engagement)
  • Facilitate awareness sessions, life skills sessions, and information dissemination sessions when needed
  • Coordinate donor or internal visits to Protection CE activities/spaces, with the support of the Protection Officer (Community Engagement) and liaise and coordinate with local authorities and stakeholders as deemed needed and relevant

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to have a Secondary school or fresh graduate.

Moreover, we also expect the following: 

Required

  • At least 1 year of proven experience in undertaking community protection and community engagement initiatives;
  • Adequate knowledge in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Previous experience with Persons with Disabilities is recommended;

We offer

  • Contract length: until 31 December 2019, renewable based on funds and performance
  • Band/Level: Band I 1 level 1
  • Basis Salary: 1350 USD (depending on years of experience)
  • Duty Station: Tripoli
  • Start date: August 2019
