Communication Officer

The position of “Communication Officer” for the “Lebanese Civil Society Combatting for a plastic free Mediterranean Sea” within “Protection and sustainable development of maritime resources in Lebanon” Program funded by the European Union must have the following:

Responsibilities

• Implementation of the Communication Plan of the Project and the production of communication materials to be used in activities and events of the Project reaching out to all relevant stakeholders s and the general public with the objective of maintaining plastic free marine litter.
• Maintain and update relevant website and project webpage;
• Create and manage a social media channels, uploading information and materials continuously.
• Assist in organization of workshops,  awareness-raising events, media trips, environmental campaigns;
• Assist in development of Project publications, booklets, leaflets and maintain press clips/files clips, videos, documentaries, films, photos, promotion materials, etc;
• Implement other activities identified in the Communication Plan.

The Communication Officer will be a core member of the team. The various technical officers will provide the communications officer, with technical material that will contribute to implement the communication strategy.

Qualifications

• University degree in Communication, Journalism and media or related fields;
• Experience working in the field of digital communication, including recent experience in website design and content development, content management systems, analytics and use of social media; (Communication in the environmental programs is preferable)
• Experience working with NGOs;
• Good skills in graphics programs including Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator and website builder (CMS);
• Excellent and demonstrable English and Arabic language skills, both spoken and written. 

Location:         Beirut Lebanon - with field visits to different coastal regions

Expected Duration of Assignment: 12 months
