JOB TITLE: GBV Case management online course facilitator

DURATION:  9 months

LOCATION: Online

ABAAD PURPOSE:

ABAAD aims at achieving gender equality as an essential condition to sustainable social and economic development in the MENA region. ABAAD has a proven record in working in addressing GBV in emergency settings. Through women, boys’ and girls’ empowerment and improving the quality of multi-sectorial assistance for women and girls survivors or at risk of GBV among the host and Syrian refugee population.

 

Background:

Response and Outreach to Empower Gender Based Violence (GBV) Trauma Survivors, in Syria 2019 is a project being implemented in Damascus, Sweida and Daraa. In the aim of providing quality GBV response, capacity building and prevention services to affected population residing in Syria.

 

MHPSS CM online helpdesk:

The GBV case management online course is an online platform for training on gender equality and holistic care for survivors of gender-based violence, especially in emergencies. Holistic care, or case management, is an empowering approach that provides GBV survivors with multi-sectoral services that include healthcare, mental and psychosocial care, safety, legal aid, guidance, socio-economic empowerment, listening, counseling, referral, among other relevant services. The course is open to social workers, rights activists, and anybody planning to use the training as a means to provide support or referral to GBV survivors and/or advance gender equality, women’s empowerment, and women’s human rights.

 

JOB PURPOSE:

The purpose of GBV Case management online course facilitator is to ensure all tasks related to smooth operation of the online course are attended to, starting from the registration phase and through to graduation and any relevant follow up.

 

REPORTING LINES:   

Post Holder Reports Directly to: ABAAD Director of programs

In addition, post holder coordinates closely with the Program coordinator for planning, implementation, and with ABAAD MHPSS & GBV Advisors for technical inquiries.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Receiving training on operating the online GBVCM course system and testing the system for one month
  • Reception of application requests and assessing suitability of the profiles of applicants to meet the GBVCM course objectives
  • Admission of relevant applicants according to eligibility criteria.
  • Grading students’ papers and communicating relevant materials through to graduation.
  • Provision of monthly report briefly describing statistics, and any other relevant requests where needed.

 

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in the field of GBV case management.
  • Master’s degree in clinical psychology is preferable; extensive experience in case management.
  • Substantial knowledge and understanding of the GBV framework and related cultural and contextual dynamics;
  • Experience in providing individual support to service providers working with national and/or international NGOs in the region;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness.
