SENIOR AREA COORDINATORS

The Rene Moawad Foundation is looking for Senior Area Coordinators (SACs) for the districts of Bekaa, North, and South to work on its new agricultural project.

Project Overview:

RMF aims through the “strengthening exports of fruits and vegetables from lebanon to european and regional markets” project to strengthen specific value chains crops by supporting major actors across the value chain including farmers, service providers, aggregators, exporters, public and private institutions and academia in improving their capacities and providing them with best practices, new technologies, tools and equipment to enhance the value chain to meet export requirements and enabling environment and ultimately enhancing economic advancement.

 

Major Responsibilities:

In close collaboration with the project manager, the main responsibilities of the SENIOR AREA COORDINATOR (SAC) are to manage the efficient implementation of the project with the utmost quality. SHE / HE will be responsible for managing the projects’ field staff and for being the main liaison with the district beneficiaries, local authorities, and the different stakeholders. Responsibilities would include project execution, management, field staff management, communications, networking, and reporting.

Scope of work:

The scope of work for the SAC will involve the following activities, but not limited to:

  • Direct and manage the implementation of the project in the related district.
  • Supervise the day-to-day tasks and procedures related to the implementation of the project.
  • Ensure effective project reporting and maintain constant communication with the project manager.
  • Suggest development plans and future steps to better enhance project delivery.
  • Oversee the AREA office staff program deliverables.
  • Manage the AREA office staff schedule.
  • Conduct weekly staff meeting to discuss work progress, challenges, and new tasks.
  • Ensure effective team work and team spirit between all staff members.
  • Manage day-to-day procedures related to record keeping and financial activities of the regional office.
  • Assist in all logistical and operational issues.
  • Reach out to different Cooperatives, Municipalities and other related stakeholders in the related district in order to engage them in the project.
  • Overview the execution of the different events along with the different capacity building sessions, workshops and other special activities of the project.
  • Represent RMF in all meetings with local authorities and community stakeholders in the related district.
  • Maintain strong relationships and coordination with all related stakeholders.

 

Required Personal Qualifications:

  • University Degree in Agriculture or a related field; Advanced degree is a plus
  • At least 5 years of work experience; previous work with an NGO is a plus
  • Familiarity with the agricultural sector especially Orchards and Vineyards
  • Strong managerial and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluency in both Arabic and English languages, both written and verbal
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Task-oriented individual
  • Good team player
