- Implement interventions and strategies in coordination with the program Manager
- Conduct preliminary meetings in order to collect anamnestic data (from parents and children and other stakeholders )
- conduct home visits
- Evaluate the family needs and resources’ availability
- If necessary, refer families to appropriate services and other NGOs
- Ensure a consistent and regular follow-up on the family
- Prepare weekly schedules & coordinate with the program Manger
- Update files and related SOP forms
- Prepare child protection reports when necessary
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders( grand-parents, school, teachers) for the best interest of the child
- Accompany a minor with ISF to a safe shelter or hospital or other determination based on the decision of the judge
- Assist to a sessions with the juvenile judge
- Role of the Sw representative in court:
- Coordinating with the court Registry where requests for protection are received by the Court for the purpose of:
- Viewing the incoming request and writing a summary of it in order to establish a file
- Being notified of the court sessions and decisions issued by the judge.
- Taking note of any incoming document for protection. Example: request from one of the parties – medical reports – psychological reports - social reports in case the child is in one of the centers
- Attending court hearings (Juvenile Court) and take notes during the hearing.
- Meet the child and the family and conduct periodic visits to the house to see the status of the child.
- Communicating with the institutions in order to secure a child reception center.
- Following up with the institution that received the child and his status - possibly visiting the institution that received the child to see his status.
- Visiting institutions receiving children at risk.
- Holding a Hotline to receive communications about cases of violence against children, assessing the situation, applying for protection or informing the juvenile judge or the Public Prosecution. Note: every judge has his own method in dealing with such cases. Example: The juvenile judge may ask the social representative to inform him of every case of violence against a child, and he will instruct her to carry out the evaluation; i.e., the evaluation comes with an oral order from the judge before applying for child protection or informing the Juvenile judge. In this case, the Attorney-General must also coordinate with the juvenile judge.
- Attending hearing sessions for a minor in front of the judge in the cases of violence against children.
- In the event that the juvenile representative fails to attend a preliminary investigation with a minor subjected to violence, he / she shall attend the investigation, especially if the information is provided by the juvenile representative or by “Himaya”, after being assigned by the Attorney General.
- Coordination with all parties or specialists assigned by the juvenile judge in the protection file (forensic doctor, psychiatrist .....).
- If a member of an association, institution or person notifies Himaya of a certain case and asked that his identity or source not be revealed, Himaya may adopt the notification and proceed to inform the judge or the public prosecutor or to inform the juvenile judge orally so that he may assign us an initial assessment, in order to submit a request for protection.
- Himaya will not sign any notification unless it is done in the manner indicated in the previous item (11).
