Health Program Officer - Central

The Health Program Officer works closely on all tasks and responsibilities with the Health Deputy Coordinator and Field teams. This position is office based with planned occasional field outside of Beirut. The responsibility is to provide administrative and technical support to the program and to ensure that department operations and program implementation are monitored and improved upon as needed.

 

Technical Support:

  1. Conduct Field visits to ensure proper implementation of contract terms
    1. Conduct visits with IMC Field Staff to supported centers
      1. Verify implementation via standardized checklist
      2. Report identified gaps
      3. Propose action plan
    2. Team meetings at field offices at project launch
      1. Ensure standard implementation of program among field staff
    3. Review PHCC raw data
      1. Sampling basis
  2. Perform data analysis as requested  
    1. Program design
    2. Costing
  3. Work with central unit to prepare data presentations used in meetings  

 

Financial Responsibilities:

  1. Work with program assistants to develop/maintain tools needed by the Deputy Health Coordinator and the Health Coordinator to track program finances by:

 

Administrative Responsibilities:

  1. Follow up with the central focal points of local NGOs with regard to documentation needed for program implementation (invoices, legal papers…)
  2. Develop and maintain a physical filing system to ensure all relevant vendor contracts are stored according to grant and area
  3. Consolidate needs assessments done at field offices in order to prepare unified procurement requests (PRs) with regard to materials needed for program implementation
  4. Focal point for capacity building trainings conducted at support clinics: responsible of preparing PRs for consultants and venue. Needs to coordinate with HR/finance/consultants to collect and process all necessary documents/IMC forms needed to ensure timely payment of the consultants.
  5. Maintain online archiving of all program trackers on office 365
  6. Other tasks as required by the Health Deputy Coordinator

 

Reporting:

  • Reports directly on all tasks and responsibilities to the Deputy Health Coordinator
  • Providing timely updates as required

● Preferable: Master’s in Public Health (Health Management and Policy concentration) or Master in Health Management
● Basic requirement: Bachelor's degree in Nursing
● Experience working in and an understanding of the nonprofit sector preferably in a similar position in a health program
● Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills
● Good understanding of the project cycle and team work
● Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment, prioritizes tasks, meet deadlines, and ensure high quality work
● Emotional maturity and agility in working in a fast-paced environment with multitasking abilities
● Advanced Microsoft Office skills especially with regard to Excel and Word
