Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) MELD Officer

Key responsibilities

Program learning development:

  • Evaluate and identify individual and program development needs
  • Develop methods for data file formatting, data analysis methodologies, and management reporting
  • Identify data collection tools, data sources, benchmarks, and performance targets
  • Prepare, update and develop all documents, presentations and tools related to DRR project
  • Handle the learning and professional development of the program
  • Equip staff with the analysis, knowledge, practical skills and prepares briefs on disasters in the region, organize meetings/teleconference on crisis
  • Research new tools and methodologies and presenting them to the team
  • Review objectives and specifications; evaluating proposed changes; recommending changes; making modifications
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies 
  • Prepare reference for users (volunteers and staff) by writing operating instructions and process for performance improvement
  • Collate and disseminate best practices, success stories and data analysis

 

 

Monitoring and evaluation:

  • Provide technical input into inclusive program and project development processes, particularly on logic of intervention (Theory of Change, logical frameworks and MEAL plans), with an emphasis on ensuring sound understanding of how changes happen and sound program logic and objective setting that is informed by contextual information
  • Provide guidance to ensure the quality of the programs 
  • Ensure and coordinate the implementation of M&E activities
  • Ensure and coordinate project targets are being met and oversee the overall monitoring

 

Data visualization, communication and reporting:

  • Prepare, update and develop all documents, presentations and tools
  • Develop and communicate reports depending on stakeholder reporting requirements and purposes
  • Maintain confidentiality compliance and follow all relevant internal and governmental regulations regarding database management
