GVC is an Italian NGO founded in 1971. Actually is working in 22 countries worldwide. GVC presence in Lebanon dates back to the begin of Syrian Crisis and since then GVC has been implementing emergency and development projects in Bekaa financed by International Donors mainly in WASH sector.
Job Title: Project Officer
Project Framework: Promoting Sustainable Management of Water Services and Resources in Countries Affected by the Syrian Crisis (Funding Agency: European Union)
Duty Station: Zahle and Beirut Office (where you to spend half of the week in Bekaa and half in Beirut) with frequent travels to projects areas ‘Ain’
Line Manager: Program Manager
OBJECTIVES:
Support the management of the project in terms of reporting, capitalization, coordination and organization.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- COMMUNICATION AND COORDINATION
- Facilitates the coordination with the logistic and finance departments for the implementation of the activities;
- Facilitates the coordination with the Communication department for the collection of media material, the production and dissemination of communication tools;
- Facilitates and ensures the respect of donors’ and partners’ visibility guidelines in all external communication tools;
- Facilitates the MEAL Department in the collection of project indicators and sources of verification;
- In coordination with the SAC, ensures collection and archiving of sources of verification, especially the contractual ones
- Supports the management in the project follow-up: partnerships follow-up, indicators, respect of work plan and expenditures, reporting.
- Organizes quarterly project review meetings, in collaboration with relevant support services and team of the project
- Redacts / edits official letters to Local Institutions and Partners;
- Facilitates relation with BWE and the follow-up of submittals approval and letters
- Supports in the proposal and implementation of a training plan for the team
- REPORTING:
- Quality check, consolidation and restitution to the field teams of the reporting;
- Regularly consolidates the reporting of field teams and converts the reports into project indicators matrixes
- Sends minutes from all the meetings and discussions with external actors
- Sends any other report upon management request
- Participates to intermediate and final project reporting
- Data analysis and production of capitalization documents to consolidate and feed GVC strategy.
- Any other task not here listed and necessary to the projects and activities
Professional skills & cross-cutting skills
• At least 2 years’ experience in a similar position or educational background in project management
• Perfect knowledge of project cycle and project monitoring tools
• Perfect level of English mandatory (written and spoken)
• Excellent writing, analysis and summarizing skills
• Excellent skills in Office tools, including formatting, layout and graphics
• Humility, motivation and ability to learn
• Knowledge of Lebanese Water Sector will be an asset.
