MARCH is non-profit, non-governmental organization that has been working in Tripoli since 2014 in the sectors of social cohesion, peace-building and capacity-building of marginalized youth. MARCH has been focusing on providing its beneficiaries with a holistic approach that involves the development of professional as well as personal and inter-personal skills to increase their value in the job market, alleviate sectarian conflict and contribute to the economical prosperity of Tripoli’s deprived neighborhoods.

MARCH is looking for a psychologist-consultant with experience in working with marginalized youth to provide psychosocial support to its beneficiaries.

The consultant will:

• conduct psychosocial support in group sessions as well as individual sessions twice a week
• identify special cases (PTSD, depression, etc.) and advise about necessary steps
• advise about more advanced psychological support for individuals if deemed necessary
• Work closely with MARCH-staff, attend and actively participate in regular meetings and seminars and support MARCH in providing solutions and support for the beneficiaries
• abide by MARCH’s code of conduct and do-no-harm standards and protect the confidentiality of all personal and organizational information

Terms:

• The consultant will work 2 days per week in the premises of March in Tripoli
• Consultancy duration: 9th of September 2019 – 31st of March 2020

Requirements:

•    Academic degree in psychology or related fields
•    Experience in working with traumatized youth from marginalized backgrounds
•    Fluency in Arabic and English
•    Willingness to adapt to and learn about the socio-cultural context of the beneficiaries
•    Identification with MARCH’s vision and ethical values
