Livelihoods Project Manager - Bekaa

DETAILED OBJECTIVES AND TASKS

Objective 1: To ensure timely and quality implementation of livelihoods activities (35%)

  • To support the technical manager in designing the beneficiary selection process
  • To supervise the field officers in the beneficiary selection process on a daily basis and to actively support the process
  • To present livelihoods activities (cash for work, skills trainings, etc.) work-plans, designs and proposals to the TM based on ongoing B&Z program and country strategy
  • To plan and facilitate the design of trainings to be provided to livelihoods participants
  • To provide weekly work-plans and tasks to the Field Officers based on project work-plans and ensure good allocation of tasks through follow ups with Field Officers
  • To actively support B&Z implementing partners in conducting their livelihoods activities in the area
  • The represent in daily encounters with program stakeholders
  • To provide verbal and written reports on the activities to the TM at the agreed frequency
  • Under the guidance of the TM, participate in the development of capitalization reports for each livelihoods activity conducted by B&Z
  •  To facilitate the implementation of pilot livelihoods activities in Bekaa and present results with written and narrative reports to the TM
  • To provide distribution plans, procurement requests to the TM based on agreed project work-plan
  • To actively participate in budget follow up meetings with the TM
  • To ensure project monitoring activities are implemented according to the project work plans
  • To support drafting of livelihoods sector analysis sections in conducted assessments and surveys under the guidance of the TM and in coordination with the Monitoring and Evaluation manager.

     

 Objective 2: To promote the comprehension and support the implementation of livelihoods interventions in Bekaa (15%)

  • To collect and evaluate information on livelihoods of the targeted populations in Bekaa and identify their needs
  • To identify livelihoods support needs of the refugee population and propose intervention opportunities in line with B&Z country strategy to the TM
  • To identify the livelihoods support needs of the vulnerable local population and propose how to meet these needs
  • Under the guidance of the TM, actively coordinate with other agencies and other stakeholders in livelihoods sector in Bekaa
  • To represent B&Z in national working group meetings in coordination with the TM
  • To support the identification and design of livelihoods proposals in Bekaa
  • To be involved in project reporting, monthly Activity Progress Report (APR), intermediate and finals reports.

 Objective 3: Team Management (30%)

  • Supervise and monitor the staff under his / her supervision as well as to coordinate partners
  • Participate in staff training , helping to build technical capacity of staff , operators and partners in the area of FSL
  • Monitor and coach colleagues and team members, building the capacity to obtain high quality results and impacts
  • Help to develop and execute context – specific solutions to improve collaboration, coordination and performance
  • Ensure the good respect of working condition while in office or the field, especially the respect of B&Z Code of conduct and standard operation procedures for the area of operation and safety rules on the construction sites
  • Ensure staff appraisals are conducted and together with the TM. Identify staff trainings needs and follow up the appropriate action with the TM with recommendations of training and other capacity-building majors.

 

 Objective 4: Finance and Administration (10%)

  • Organize day- to-day logistic, administration and personal activities
  • Manage all related program equipment and materials in close consultation with the logistic / procurement officer. Maintain and ensure proper project asset register
  • Contribute to the supervision and control of expenses related with the activities of the project ( Procurement planning)
  • Ensure the application of the Log –Kit forums and procedures pertaining to the supply chain, procurement, transport / movement
  • Supervise specific project (s) budget forecast & follow up
  • Participate in the design of new budget.

 

Objective 5: Reporting (10%)

  • Be involved in the final project reporting: monthly APRs intermediate and final reports
  • Report the progress of the work to his / her inline supervisor and material used
  • Report possible problem or conflict during the activities
  • Report weekly activities and transportation needs
  • Contribute to project and beneficiaries data collection and reporting
  • Regular reporting to Livelihood TM and HQ.

     

 Objective 6: Security

  • Respect the security rules specified in the mission and base security plan, see to it that the team under his/her responsibility complies with the security plan and perform the security management tasks that can be assigned.

 Objective 7: Support the humanitarian activities of Basmeh and Zeitooneh

  • Support emergency interventions, as per the employee's capacities
  • Support any activity that helps achieving B&Z humanitarian goals, as per the employee's capacities

Bachelor degree in social work, agriculture, economy, food security, humanitarian action or any related field.
Desirable knowledge in food security and livelihoods, agriculture, economy.
2 years’ experience in humanitarian and development organizations.
1-year experience in livelihoods programs management with international agency (desirable).
