Livelihood Assistant (Lebanese Nationals Only) - North Base

Background

ACTED is an International Non-Governmental Organization registered in France with global operations in Central and South Asia, Europe, Middle-East and Africa. ACTED has been active in Lebanon since 2006 operating mainly in the North and Beirut and Mount Lebanon governorates of Lebanon. ACTED is implementing a project providing protection and livelihoods support in Tripoli in partnership with RDFL.

 

  1.  Service Mapping & Community mobilization
    • Identify GBV service providers in all areas of intervention;
    • Coordinate and organize self-defense training in coordination with the trainer;
    • Provide support to RDFL in organizing protection trainings;
    • Conduct interviews for beneficiary selection.

 

  1. Supporting vocational training within community center(s)

 

    • Liaison with relevant community centers for availabilities and equipment and material needs;
    • Facilitate childcare for beneficiaries of the livelihoods activities;
    • Oversee and support the implementation of TVET activities within the centers;
    • Conduct profiling of beneficiary skills, goals and constraints and identify suitable internship opportunities;
    • Facilitate placement of beneficiaries into internships and conduct regular monitoring;
    • Identify suitable employment opportunities for the beneficiaries of trainings;
    • Record monthly results and report back to the program manager and field coordination.

 

 

  1. Reporting and documentation
    • Ensure proper filing of attendance sheets and project documents;
    • Follow up on all paper work and reporting needed from the field;
    • Conduct phone calls and follow up with beneficiaries, if necessary;   
    • Collect case studies and success stories according to ACTED guidelines.

 

  1. Accountability to Communities and Beneficiaries

The Livelihoods Assistant is responsible for ensuring that all relations with the communities we work are conducted in a respectful and consultative manner.  Due attention must be paid to ensuring that communities are adequately consulted and informed about ACTED program objectives, activities, beneficiary selection criteria, and methodologies.  This is the responsibility of every ACTED staff member.

 

  1. Requirements
    • University degree in a relevant field such as International Development, Business, Education, or Social work.
    • Strong ability to work independently, organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail;
    • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility;
    • INGO and/or UN experience in similar position preferred;
    • Personal qualities: Works well in and promotes teamwork, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well;
    • Experience in working in the protection sector ;
    • Experience in working in a livelihood/employment program;

Experience delivering trainings and curriculums.
