Procurement & Logistics Officer

 

General Purpose of the position: The procurement & Logistics officer provides Jbeil project with the required supplies and materials in order to ensure that they are available in accordance with the action plan developed in the Project Proposal and ensures the smooth running of the daily operations at the centers. He/She is available for the project needs and assists with the logistics of it.

 

I. PROCUREMENT

   A. Contacts

  • Identifies, researches and evaluates vendors for quality and pricing.
  • Contacts and negotiates with suppliers.
  • Follows JRS Procurement Policy.
  • Provides all the required quotations and other documents for the Country Finance Officer.
  • To help and support the local Project Director to purchase and to find suppliers.

 

  B. Reception and delivery

  • Ensures that supplies and goods are obtained at the best possible prices. 
  • Ensures and surveys transportation for delivery goods.
  • Ensures that the quality and quantities delivered, matches with the description field in the invoices.

 

 C. Budget Management

  • Provides all the required invoices, vouchers, quotations and other documents for the Project Director/Bookkeeper.

 

 D. Car Maintenance

  • Provides all the required supplies and goods to ensure car maintenance, as well invoices, vouchers, quotations and other documents for the Project Director/Bookkeeper related with service vehicles.

 

II. Logistics

  • Delivers purchases and/or money transfer.
  • Runs errands.
  • Picks up supplies.
  • Visits suppliers.

 

Ensures prompt execution of other tasks which are within the ambit of a Procurement & Logistics Officer which may be requested by Project Director as needs occur.

 

 

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Compassion and strong commitment for refugees and other displaced people.
  • Degree or diploma in business administration or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience in procurement.
  • Previous experience with NGO is an asset.
  • Trustworthy, good listener, creative, flexible, detail oriented and can maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and oral communication skills in both Arabic and English.
  • Computer Literate: Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Strong ability to work independently, organize work, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
  • Valid driving license with at least 2 years of driving a manual vehicle.
