Community Mobilizer Under RDPP 2 -

1. Background

Safadi Foundation is launching the second phase of its Accelerated Vocational Training Centre for the Socio-Economic inclusion in the North. The project’s main overall objective is to stimulate sustainable economic participation of vulnerable youth to promote their inclusion in the development of marginalized communities. In the long-term, inclusion can transform youth socio-economic outlook making them active participants in decreasing unemployment rates and increasing their household income. The specific objective of this project will be to develop youth employability through comprehensive training programmes. Target beneficiaries will have access to accelerated market-based training and self-development programs that will prepare them to increase their competitiveness in the skilled labour market. Finally, the project will aim to strengthen private sector and national actor engagement in active labour market programmes, by participating in developing an effective labour programme leading to significant reduction in identified skills gap.

2. Purpose

Safadi Foundation is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and experienced Community Mobilizers to join its Outreach team and are able to reach youth aged 15-29 years old who are residing in Akkar region to participate in one of the following topics:

• Barber
• Electricity
• Infant Care Giver
• Assistant Chef
• Sewing
• Plumbing
• Sales and Marketing
• General Car Services
• Agrofood
• Agricultural

The successful national candidate will be expected to:

• Provide a list of potential trainees based on the planned selection criteria who are interested in attending one of the above-mentioned topics.
• Provide a list of key persons and local stakeholders to help in mainstreaming the project's objectives and activities, in particular, to facilitate the outreach phase of the project.

3. Tasks and Responsibilities

1. Report all outreach updates and activities to the Outreach Officer.
2. Attend relevant team meetings as needed.
3. Inform the local community about the project objectives and activities.
4. Identify key persons and local stakeholders to facilitate the outreach phase of the project
5. Prepare and lead information sessions in the local community
6. Direct contact with potential trainees in order to fill the Outreach form (provided by SF team)
7. Participate in local social events to publicize the project, link youth to the project and participate actively to the Youth outreach.
8. Encourage and praise community members, confirming that they have the ability to develop themselves

4. Contract Information

• Availability: 1st of October
• Duty station: Akkar
• Contract Length: 3 Months (with a potential of renew)

5. Qualifications Required

The candidate is expected to have a Ministry of Finance registration number.

1. Person Qualifications:

• Selected candidate should have an experience in implementing outreach activities; at least 2 years of experience.
• Knowledge and experience in working with NGOs/ local authorities for at least 2 years
• Capacity to think creatively in dealing with vulnerable audience.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a supportive communication style.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, demonstrated ability of designing an outreach plan
• Clear understanding of the political, geographic, and economic dynamics of Akkar area.
