Sexual and reproductive Health Specialist

Concern   Worldwide   launched   its   Syrian   refugees   response   in   Lebanon   in May 2013,   and   has established operations in the Akkar and Tripoli/T5 regions of North Lebanon – among the country’s most vulnerable areas. The response includes WASH, Shelter, Protection, Education and Livelihoods.

Since the beginning of the intervention, Concern Worldwide has been working in WASH in informal settlements by providing WASH facilities, ensure the beneficiaries have a clean source of water, and to promote good hygiene practices on multiple topics, such as personal hygiene, environmental hygiene, solid waste management, Menstrual Hygiene Management, and health related topics.

Sexual and reproductive health is not consistently tackled within the WASH sector in Lebanon and sexual health problems and abuse (including SGBV) are common place for young people, especially women. Due to the unstable nature of their settlement, refugees, especially those living in IS, are particularly at risk of sexual and reproductive ill-health.

Concern seeks to tackle the sexual and reproductive health issues faced principally by women and girls living in the ITS, and reinforce its hygiene promotion and SGBV prevention program, as part of its WASH intervention.
