OBJECTIVE:
The Grant Writing & Learning Officer will work closely with the Head of MEAL & Program Development on writing and leading on bid/grant/proposal development and the collection of lessons learned from Caritas Lebanon (CL)’s vast programs. The Grant Writing/Learning Officer (GWLO) will coordinate the grant development process by working and liaising with CL’s Head of Departments (HODs) on programmes, activities, and operational costs and needs. The GWLO will lead on bringing together all necessary information and resources for the successful submission and delivery of grants/proposals. In addition, the GWLO will collect and collate all lessons learned to develop recommendations for future proposals.
DUTIES:
- Working closely with Head of MEAL & Program Development on the planning of the proposal writing.
- Coordinating and collecting necessary programmatic and operational data/information from relevant HODs.
- Grant writing; including: research and development of context analysis/background/desk literature review, and drafting of proposal body.
- Drafting of budget, workplan, and M&E logframe in liaison with relevant departments.
- Review of the final proposal/bid and incorporate feedback and suggestions.
- Attend working groups and meetings representing CL for grant/bid invitations.
- Collect & develop lessons learned in coordination with the M&E team and Project staff.
- Any other tasks requested by manager.
Leading & Coordination:
- Engaged and participating in the full proposal process: planning, developing, writing, and review.
- Ensuring proposal is in line with donor submission requirements.
- Coordinates with relevant departments with CL for the collection and capturing of necessary information and data; from programmatic to operational.
Proposal Writing & Learning:
- Developing & drafting of proposal narratives.
- Partaking in desk/literature review for the development of concrete context analysis.
- Coordinates with HODs and Operations for the drafting of budgets.
- Reviewing/editing proposals based on feedback.
- Compiling and collecting success stories, in coordination with M&E team, for the development of lessons learned.
- Drafting lessons-learned one-pagers that can highlight program successes for future grants/calls.

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Is familiar with the humanitarian sector and the current context.
- 2-3 years’ experience.
- Has experience developing, drafting, writing, and editing proposals/grants.
- Background in copywriting is preferred.
