INFORMATION MANAGEMENT OFFICER

A- Responsabilities and tasks

 

1- Information management: support IMA in development of IM strategy at mission level

2- Quality Management: Ensuring the quality and accuracy of data

3- Accountability:  Ensuring the proper centralized storage and accessibility of program’s data for reporting purposes 

4- Strategy: support IMA to harmonize IM system at bases

 

B- Specific objectives and linked activities 

 

1- Data Management

  • Ensure all project activities are recorded in the relevant databases (including site-based databases such as Activity Info);
  • Ensure data confidentiality and protection according to any restrictions identified by the Manager;
  • Develop the coding of ODK forms when requested.

 

2- Information Management Systems Development

  • Design analysis templates for assessments and surveys with the IMA and MEAL Coordinator based on harmonized templates;
  • Assist IMA in migration process for existing and new data;
  • Suggest and implement improvements to IM system in order to increase accuracy and/or simplify/streamline activities.

 

3- Developing and Implementing IM Activities

  • Technical support and contribution to the development of analysis and reporting templates;
  • Supporting IMA in the technical development of MEAL through all bases.

 

4- IM and IT Support

  • Ensure the hardware at base level is maintained properly and has the correct software installed for the base needs;
  • Provide IM and IT support at base level and refer unsolvable issues to IM Advisor;
  • Report ongoing/unsolved IT problems to IM Advisor and MEAL Manager/Coordinator;
  • Undertake any relevant task upon Manager’s request, including supporting other departments.

 

5- Capitalization/Institutional Knowledge Building

  • Organize training sessions on IM/IT-related topics at base level.

 

C- Priorities of the department: 

 

  • Support the base in all IM and IT related activities;
  • Participate in ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of data

 

D- Mandatory requirements:

 

1- Language Skills: Fluent in English and Arabic, (speaking/reading/writing).

2- Education Degree: University degree or Technical diploma in a Computer related field.

3- Work experience: 3 years of experience in NGOs/private companies in IT.

4- Computer Skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of Word, Excel and Access (Proven Experience in Data Manipulation and Report generation)
  • Very Good Typing Skills
  • Management of Databases such as MS-SQL, Postgres…

 

E- Assets

 

1- Other  knowledge: Acquaintance with INGO' rules, procedures and regulations

2- Interest: Work in relief, interest for vulnerable populations

3- Transversal skills:

  • Well organized and attention to details;
  • Reliable and rigorous;
  • Ability to analyse and suggest improvement;
  • Autonomy, neutrality, hard worker;
  • Able to manage stress and pressure;
