Street and Working Children Facilitator

Duties and responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and effective environment during the sessions, ensure child-friendly atmosphere. ( No physical discipline, or fighting )
• Ensure the SHLS Center is Safe, equipped, and clean for children on a daily basis.  
• Consulting children of the SHLS and taking their views into consideration.
• Take the children’s attendance on a daily base.
•  Developing rules with children and apply consistently: develop these rules with the children themselves. Rules must be fair, appropriate and agreed on by the children themselves
• Providing opportunities for children to participate in designing and conducting activities
• Ensure that children feel comfortable, safe, and respected.
• Ensure that all games and equipment are accounted for, clean, and stored securely at the end of the day.
• Supervise and support children’s play activities for maximum of 4 hours per day.
• Gather data from the children for registration and attendance in addition filling in of the M&E tools related to the children’s well-being throughout the project.
• Screen for and monitor protection needs and gaps in and around the SHLS and refer child protection cases to the child protection officer or the case management team/focal point

  Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor Degree.
• Work Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience.
• Demonstrated Skills and Competencies related to working with children and particularly vulnerable children.
• Fluent in speaking and writing both Arabic and English Language is plus.
• Be an influencer (positive role model).
• Flexible, adaptable, and handle stress.
•  Understands the work with children , cross-cultural setting
• Demonstrate conflict – solving behaviors.
• Team player and network building.

Working conditions

The Job requires understanding the challenges faced in working with streets and working children. Excepted to work under challenging circumstances, that requires a patient and calm attitude.
