Research Assistant at Embrace NGO

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Metrics Development

1. Developing/Refining Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) tools for the activities under the Embrace Lifeline department, the Embrace Mental Health Center (EMHC) department, and any pilot projects.

2. Developing/Refining questions, metrics, and surveys for ongoing research projects.

Data Capture

3. Entering data from Embrace M&E forms from all activities.

4. Supporting in data collection from Embrace activities whenever relevant/needed.

5. Cleaning the extracted quantitative and qualitative data 

6. Creating and maintaining a safe and efficient system for storing and archiving data.

Data Analysis

7. Conducting data analysis (e.g., multiple regression, t-tests, logistic regressions, factor-analysis, etc...) for data in academic research, internal reports, and commercial reports.

8. Leveraging data to inform operational policies and procedures at Embrace as well as nation-wide mental health policies

Data Reporting

9. Compiling tables, graphs, and figures for academic reports

10. Retrieving/Compiling other data reports as needed for presentations, communication material or any relevant work

Manuscript Contribution

11. Conducting systematic and non-systematic literature reviews and manuscript writing for academic publication as set in the annual strategy.

12. Contributing to innovation in research.

Grant Writing

13. Supporting in the identification of relevant grants for new or ongoing activities/programs at Embrace.

14. Writing up grants and research proposals for granting bodies or other regulatory bodies

Other

15. Training/supervising personnel to conduct data entry.

16. Attending relevant trainings and seminars to carry out Quality Assurance calls for the Embrace Lifeline.

Note that the above list of tasks and responsibilities may not be exhaustive, and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be expected within the scope of the role

 QUALIFICATONS

1. Critical Skills

  • Experience with statistical software including SPSS, R Studio, or Stata.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic.
  • Experience working with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience leveraging and managing large datasets.
  • Experience using Google Workspace (Google Forms, Google Sheets)
  • Experience working with CRMs or EHRs.

2. Behavioral Skills

  • Demonstrates ability to problem solve independently and efficiently.
  • Demonstrates excellent organization and time management skills.
