M&E officer Lebanon, Syria

Main Tasks:

• Support all M&E initiatives for assigned grant(s)/project(s) including monitoring data quality, tracking the progress of activities.
• Support project managers in creating tools for the monitoring and evaluation of project activities.
• Assist Program staff in clarifying project information needs.
• Support project/program staff on ways to properly document, organize and capture program progress.

• Draft tools and their revisions as well as data collection procedures
• Suggest ways to facilitate data collection and the flow of data within Program field teams.
• Identify strengths and weaknesses in existing data collection and management systems and propose solutions.
• Perform regular field visits to ensure the quality of data collected by Programs and to verify the accuracy of reported data.  
• Support and participate in program and project evaluations when needed.
• Support in editing reports sent by the partners before sending it to the donor.
• Review and analyze weekly reports to identify the causes of potential bottlenecks in project implementation and to enhance quality of reporting.

• BSc degree in social sciences, economics, statistics, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in humanitarian aid, preferably in an international or large local non-governmental organization (NGO);
• Developed quantitative and qualitative research, analysis and evaluation skills
• Computer literacy and competency in use of Microsoft Office software.
• Experience with electronic data capture
• Knowledge of SPSS or other statistics software
• Communication skills both verbally and in writing;
• Fluent in Arabic and English in both speech and writing
• Pro-active and hands-on attitude and ability to improvise;
