RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

 

  • Key responsibilities

  • Identify and conduct prospect research and donor mapping for potential grants and partnerships.
  • Work with other departments to obtain necessary information for research and proposals grant applications.
  • Develop and prepare proposals and grant applications according to guidelines; comply with all follow-up grant reporting as required by donors.
  • Develop and prepare research projects and reports following ethics and public health theories, principles, and models. 
  • Acquire and maintain sound knowledge of the organization, and use that knowledge and understanding to better comprehend all projects and programs for which grants will be sought and to recommend the seeking of grants.
  • Maintain master calendar for all grant activity, to include submitted proposals and grant requests; maintains current records in database and in paper files, including grant tracking and reporting.
  • Assess the feasibility of the fundraising activities and derive appropriate actions accordingly.
  • Build relationships with major donors, potential partners, and private sector companies through preparing and delivering presentations and setting introductory meetings.
  • Develop and implement an annual development and fundraising plan.
  • Review constantly new fundraising channels and assess their effectiveness. 
  • Organize fundraising activities with the support of the team, especially the Communication Officer 

 

  • Requirements for position

    •             Computer literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, basic software applications and familiarity with the internet and email communications and social networking platforms

    •             Excellent writing, editing and problem-solving skills

    •             Organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines

    •             Ability to work well under stress

    •             Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with integrity

    •             Strong research skills

• Proven proficiency of professional writing experience including research papers and successful proposals to institutional donors, grant writing or other technical writing experience
