The Nawaya Network is an NGO based in Beirut that develops the skills of underprivileged Lebanese and refugee youth. One of our programs, GIL: Generation of Innovation Leaders, in partnership with UNICEF, is designed to address the high youth unemployment rates and the inaccessibility of the knowledge economy for the youth population across Lebanon through entrepreneurship.
At Nawaya, marginalized youth first go through a 13-day Entrepreneurship Training where they come up with a project idea which they then refine so it becomes a viable project. After the Entrepreneurship Training phase, youth with a viable project idea can apply to the next phase of the training which is a 6 day Financial Bootcamp, and at the end of this training, teams will be selected to move to the Incubation Phase. In the Incubation phases, teams receive further support to launch their micro-enterprises with a possibility of receiving a minor seed-funding to help with the launch.
We are seeking a trainer with a background in conflict resolution to conduct a "Training of Trainers" to sensitize our current trainers on how to address any issues that may arise within the entrepreneurship training amongst youth, which may include issues related to nationality and/or political affiliation.
