CARE International in Lebanon (CiL) is part of a regional response to the Syrian Crisis to meet the immediate and most urgent needs of those who have fled Syria and provide support to local vulnerable host populations. CARE’s programs are also designed to meet longer term needs. Working with partners in WASH, Shelter, Protection, Livelihoods and economic opportunities in the North, South, Beirut, and Mount Lebanon Governorates CARE has a special emphasis on working with women and girls.

CARE is implementing a capacity building and livelihood community-based agriculture project that seeks to address critical capacity gaps along targeted value chains at both the individual, communal and institutional levels This position is responsible for the outreach, implementation, follow up, and quality maintenance for the Agricultural Training activities, GHP/GMP, Food processing trainings, and GMP according to donor’s request with the support of the team.

Education & Certification:

Master’s or PHD degree in business administration, business management, agriculture engineering, or any relevant major.

Minimum Education Level:

Master’s or PHD degree with five years of experience

Proven Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in leading a curriculum development process at a national level.

• Has a proven track record of producing learning and/or training curricula;

• Knowledge of the Lebanese context and the local communications landscape

• Experience in the humanitarian field

• Has already worked on projects with NGOs and/or UN agencies;

IT / Software / Technical Skills:

Advanced experience in MS Office software, such as Excel

Detailed Responsibilities & Tasks

Care International is hiring curriculum development who will be in charge of developing the curriculum and content of a business development and agriculture topics, the curriculum will target Syrian, Lebanese and other nationalities working in the value chain sector. He/She will work on a regular basis with the Project manager, Business development specialist, and Agriculture technical specialist to discuss the strategies and develop the content accordingly to perform the following tasks: 

  • Develop curriculum for both the Business and Agriculture Value Chain topics in English/Arabic using the material developed by trainers and team.
  • Develop curriculum for other components of the project like GAP, food processing, and BDS training.
  • Evaluate used material and ensure that all teaching material is effective and that it meets the project objectives.
  • Participate in the creation of the market assessment tools through focus groups, interviews, and interaction with the local market, the private sector, and the governmental authorities to assess skill gaps and professional needs.
  • Revise the current Business and agriculture material developed by CARE trainers.
  • Conduct research and consult with CARE staff in the design and development of new curriculum.
  • Prepare instructional materials and develop outlines that reply to the market’s needs.
  • Lead a Training workshop on Curriculum development for the CARE staff delivering related TOT curriculum.

Deliverables

  • An English value Chain curriculum for the trainers, including objectives, materials, and activities.
  • Facilitation curriculum for other components of the project like food processing and vocational training.
  • Compile the current lesson materials under one outline per category.
  • Conduct TOT for the trainers after finalizing the curriculum
  • TOT curriculum to train on Curriculum development.
  • Assessment tools and findings for skills gaps analyses and Needs Mapping.
