Chief of Party for the LIVE Lebanon Trade and Investment Facilitation (TIF) Activity

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide project leadership, management, and technical direction to ensure all activities and partners achieve the project’s expected results
  • Lead the strategic planning of the project, including annual work plans, and provide overall vision and strategic planning for implementation
  • Ensure effective engagement coordination with private sector partners, business associations, and donor communities
  • Ensure project compliance with all contractual and administrative requirements, with support from home office and operations/finance team
  • Identify issues and risks related to project implementation in a timely manner, suggesting appropriate program adjustments
  • Ensure the project meets high-quality performance and integrity standards that comply with the policies and regulations of Chemonics and USAID
  • Apply adaptive management strategies and lead learning activities to support staff and counterparts to continually refine interventions and maximize impact
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Trade and Investment Facilitation Activity and USAID, government counterparts, local partners, and other implementing partners
  • Maintain a professional and productive partnership with USAID
  • Facilitate close collaboration and teamwork, including mentorship and development of a team of local technical and administrative staff

 

Required Qualifications:

  • A Graduate degree or equivalent in a relevant field to the technical direction of TIF. In circumstances where a candidate possesses exceptional relevant experience but lacks a graduate degree, relevant post-education experience might be considered
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of recent experience (within the last 15 years) related to private business, trade and investment, including engagement in, or facilitation of business transactions
  • A minimum of three (3) years of recent management experience for projects including private sector with similar magnitude and complexity and demonstrated ability to cohesively bring staff together and demonstrated leadership towards achieving results
  • Proven ability to perform and achieve results under challenging or non-permissive environments
  • Strong interpersonal, managerial, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Experience fostering a cohesive, collaborative, and welcoming work environment
  • Experience managing international development projects in the Middle East, with Lebanon experience preferred
  • Fluency in English required; proficiency in Arabic and/or French preferred
