The social worker is accountable to the senior social worker. She will be based in Ferzol at World Vision office with frequent travel to the field all over the Bekaa; some field travel will be needed to Beirut to the main office of Tabtiha
Duties and responsibilities
Basic assistance:
- be available at the screening desk during the e-cards distribution
- conduct trainings to inform beneficiaries: how to use the cards in the shops or ATM (materials would be provided)
- do briefing with beneficiaries about why they were invited, donors, steps to go through, hotlines to call in case of complaints, incl. new information from WFP
- Address protection issues that intersect with their formal mandates and sector-specific responsibilities
- Engage collectively to achieve meaningful protection outcomes that reduce overall risks to affected
- Provide information to communities and beneficiaries about the complaint mechanism process in place, the principles the organizations it adheres to, how it expects its staff to behave, the programs it is implementing and what they intend to deliver, and assist beneficiaries in claiming their rights.
- Ensure the delivery of humanitarian assistance that is principled, timely, effective and efficient, and contributes to longer-term recovery
- Ensure people’s access to impartial assistance in proportion to need and without discrimination
- Encourage and facilitate community engagement through getting feedback from the beneficiaries to provide feedback on their level of satisfaction with the quality and effectiveness of the assistance received, paying particular attention to gender age and diversity of those giving feedback.
- Conduct trainings to all enumerators on protection mainstreaming, how to identify protection risk cases in a timely manner, and to conduct Safe Identification and Referrals.
- Provide specific information about any protection cases during the distribution.
- Refer cases with protection risks to other specialized protection activities and conduct the needed follow up to make sure the cases are being followed
- Follow-up on the protection risk cases through a referral tracking system, which includes the case number, description of the case, agency referred to, and the means of follow-up.
- Perform ad hoc monitoring visits to contracted shops in order to identify protection risks in shops and report on it, in an effort to ensure the protection of all beneficiaries.

- B.A. in Social work
- Good command of English and Arabic in both speech and writing
- At least one year of experience in delivering trainings
- Knowledge of protection principles and humanitarian action principles
- Trained on early identification and safe referrals.
- Adherence to the mission and vision of Tabitha
- Reflect the vision and values of Tabitha with team members, local staff, beneficiaries and external contacts.
