Training beneficiaries
Number of participants: between 15 and 20
Participants’ profile: members of project management teams of Semeurs d’Avenir (coordinators, managers, programme/project officers…). Some of these participants may be in direct contact with the youth.
▪ Initial diagnostic
The Semeurs d’Avenir teams have collected elements from insertion investigations, informal discussions and observations during the short training programme, and more specifically: - Gender-influenced orientation choices with usually a very limited gender mix within the trainings - Women job placement rates lower than those of men, with specific hurdles to socioprofessional insertion: o Women-centered household chores hence women have less time available to seek and practice any professional activity
o Some women face family opposition to occupy a professional job o Interiorization of professional gender stereotypes o Attitude of some women who underestimate their capacities and exhibit less ambition than men - Community aspects
Following these observations, the Semeurs d’Avenir team has already implemented a certain number of actions: - Definition of differentiated indicators for women and men - Adaptation of training schedules to the women’s family/household constraints - Visits to the families of certain beneficiaries to persuade them to allow a person to follow a training or to take a job - Specific women-focused communication for training recruitment (sun-power energy training, long web programming trainings, etc.) - Awareness raising of hosting structures to the previously mentioned observations (especially school administration and professors)
