Evaluation and Quality Control Expert

SIDC is implementing a project title “Mind the Gap" with the support of ACTED and funded by AFD and EU MADAD.

This project aims to increase awareness on mental disorders, psychosocial stressors, and the stigma experienced by vulnerable adolescents and youth to the adolescents and youth themselves, parents and the general public, and increase access to youth-friendly services, specifically in a mental health community-based center, Escale, in Sin el Fil.

One of the activities in this project is to evaluate the quality of the services provided at Escale center and develop recommendations to improve their quality.

Therefore, SIDC would like to hire an evaluation and quality control expert for a total number of 10 to 20 working days to help in achieving the main goals of the mentioned activity under the framework of “Mind the Gap" project.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The consultant will be based within Escale Center in Sin El Fil, and will coordinate with the Project Coordinator that is currently being implemented at SIDC. Under the supervision of the Programs Coordinator/director, the specific responsibilities will be as follows:

He/She will:

• Develop the methodology of the evaluation which includes the necessary tools and the plan of its implementation (questionnaire, assessment, report template…).
• Discuss the plan with the SIDC team and amend accordingly.
• Assess main indicators that will include:

- 1 interview guide with each member of the Escale team (1 psychotherapist, 1 nurse, 1 educator, 1 social worker, 1 coordinator, 1 psychiatric, 1 director). This interview guide will include:  patient compliance to treatment, which covers patient obedience, ability to implement medical advice, flexibility, responsibility, collaboration, participation, and persistence in implementing the advices. Identifying internal factors that refer to the patient and treatment characteristics as well as the external factors that refer to the healthcare professionals, healthcare system, and socioeconomic factors. 

- 1 baseline report: Develop a report entailing a list of recommendations on improving service provision at Escale center in English language (up to 30 pages)

- 1 questionnaire for patient satisfaction of the mental health and substance use services.

- 1 end line report: Develop an evaluation report on the implementation of the selected recommendations for the improvement of the services provided at Escale center in English language (up to 30 pages).
