GIS Consultant

As part of a UNICEF fund to engage community and raise awareness on Children rights within El-Mina City, IOCC is intending to contract a “GIS Consultant” for 10 - 12 days of work to deliver the below:

A. Provide a 3-day workshop for Mina municipality staff on the below topics:

  1. Deliver basic functions of GIS, GIS Terminology, and why GIS is a powerful tool for data analysis. 
  2. Visualize geographic data, create maps, query a GIS database and perform spatial analysis. 
  3. Create GIS databases and manage data in a GIS database. 
  4. Provide the general guidelines of performing all types of analysis. 
  5. Discover patterns and trends through spatial mapping of data
  6. Web/static Mapping.

B. Generate Static/Web maps for Mina city relying on provided data:

  1. Map aggregating resources & Services
  2. Map reflecting local actors & service providers
  3. Map aggregating the dropout rates in educational institutions
  4. Map reflecting the child labor percentage and trendy sectors
  5. Map outlining the type of safe spaces youth & children access within city

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in GIS
  • Demonstrated training and facilitation skills
  • Experience in designing/developing static and web maps
  • Experience in integrating analytical software (such as Tableau) with mapping component; 
  • Experience in GIS database and spatial analysis
  • Experience in designing maps using commercial and open source tools
