Specific duties and responsibilities:
- Prepare the treatment and distribute it respecting the times, the route of administration, the dosage and the names of the patients (injections, tablets, eye drops, ointment, suppositories, etc.).
- Ensure oral and written transmissions.
- Detect all the problems (physical, psychological…) from which the patient suffers.
- Plan, organize, direct and evaluate the care provided to the patient.
- Collaborate adequately with colleagues.
- Bath the patient daily.
- Execute medical prescriptions with intelligence.
- Make the visits with the doctors.
- Install an infusion and monitor it (flow rate, signs of lymphangitis, etc.).
- Check, prepare, install and monitor a transfusion.
- Withdraw blood, urine, throat samples, etc.
- Disinfect the incubator every 12 hours and as needed and after patient discharge.
- Prepare the bottles every 3 hours.
- Make simple dressings with or without irrigation.
- Carry out cardiopulmonary resuscitation quickly and efficiently.
- Perform an ECG according to medical prescription.
- Notify the doctor if the patient's state of health deteriorates.
- Prevent nosocomial infections: hand washing, room disinfection.
- Prevent decubitus problems: friction, change of position.
- Inform and educate the family so that they can participate in the care that concerns them.
- Ensure that patient files are kept up to date.
- Adhere to the principles of documentation applied at the hospital.
- Order drugs and sterile and paramedical equipment from the pharmacy.
- Keep medical equipment in good condition.
- Integrate as part of continuing education.
- Attend conferences regularly.
- Report to the supervising nurse any accident that has occurred.
- Respect the service protocols and procedures.
- Notify the supervisor and the OHS officer of any workplace accident.
- Maintain good relations with all the hospital services.
- Regularly check the service equipment.
- Check the emergency cart.
- Adhere to the internal regulations of the hospital.
- Adhere to the principles of infection control and occupational health and safety.
- Keep professional attitude.
- Follow the directions of the supervisor.
Requirements:
- Ability to communicate within a multidisciplinary team.
- Respect the patient and have a sense of ethics.
- Self-control, tolerance, patience, listening and empathy.
- Punctuality, apply to daily work: start and end times of work, break time, no delay must be justified.
- Maintain good relationship with the team (exchange of knowledge and skills).
- Proper dress and appearance required (if uniform required by hospital).
- Respect the rules of hygiene (body cleanliness, nails, varnish, clothes, etc.)
- Knowledge of the regulations.
