Background:
S/he is a member of the field area team which includes the field medical advisor, the area pharmacist, the senior health officer, the health officers, the quality officers, and the program assistants per area.
Health program provides both technical and financial support to local primary health care centers to enable provision of affordable, accessible, and quality healthcare services to refugee and vulnerable host population.
Job Purpose:
The health officer (HO) will be in charge of supervising a set of supported primary health care centers providing health services to beneficiaries. The HO will oversee all PHC components implemented according to the agreed standards in addition to coordinating with the surrounding community.
Main Responsibilities:
- Closely coordinate with the PHC clinics and mobile medical teams to monitor their performance in implementing IMC activities
- Conduct daily visits to supported facilities, for supervision, monitoring, data collection, and feedback.
- Coordinate with the clinic focal point to ensure implementation of services including reproductive health, child health care and nutrition in addition to refering patients for specialized services.
- Closely work with the Medical Consultant to provide feedback on patients and support with diagnostic tests
- Follow up on the implementation and management of the chronic care program for control of chronic diseases.
- Conduct outreach medical follow up or home visits as needed.
- Conducts, together with the Senior HO, needs assessments and participatory assessments to identify gaps and improvements
- Work closely with the Program Assistant to ensure all proper documents are available for payments at the clinics and mobile medical units.
- Coordinate with the pharmacist in the area to ensure adequate supply of pharmaceutical donations to the designated health facilities
Coordinate with the area manager to ensure appropriate provision of medical donations including equipment’s and supplies.
