Doctor-Hadath Baalbeck

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Providing 24 hour on call for patients within the Hadath isolation centre
• Undertaking patient consultations and physical examinations daily for patients highlighted by nursing staff as having deterioration in symptoms or conditions that qualify them as “high risk” for severe COVID-19 symptoms as per national and international guidelines
• Initiating onward referral of patients including:to hospital if clinical situation deteriorating or to PSS team if mental well-being concerns
• Co-ordinating with nursing staff regarding patient management, monitoring and medication need.
• Liaising daily with staff including other doctors, non-medical management staff and healthcare professionals ensuring safe patient handover when appropriate
• Ensuring clearly written and well maintained records
• Promoting health education
• Communicate clearly with patients in a way they can understand
• Able to provide Basic Life Support in case of emergency (up to date certificate required)
• Respecting and adhering to guidelines related to COVID-19 specific and general occupational safety in order to protect themselves, patients and co-workers  including: Use of Personal Prevention Equipment, decontamination procedures, waste management, public safety measures, infection control and procedures, fire prevention and control and implement mandatory training on it before starting work and periodically.
• Adherence to the centre’s internal systems, established work policies and procedures and ongoing professional development and monitoring.
• Treating all patients and staff with respect and maintaining safety, confidentiality and professional ethics.
• To work with the nursing team and site manager to cover colleague absence for the first 48 hours.
• Attending trainings organized by WHO, MOPH, Medair, or any other external organization
• Performing other duties as required by the medical team or Medair management.

QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE:

-Age: 25-50 yearsIn good health and not suffering from any chronic diseases that make him/her vulnerable to infection with Coronavirus (COVID-19) (must provide the Medairwith a medical certificate from a general practitioner)Willingness to work in ahigh-risk COVID environment.

• Medical Doctorate or equivalent

• Licence to practice from the Lebanese Order of Physicians

• 2-4 years relevant post-qualification professional experience

• Experience with NGO in a similar position  is desirable
• Experience working in humanitarian emergency context
• Experience in management
• Up to date Basic Life Support Certificate

• Excellent English (oral & written)

• Native Arabic speaker

• Familiar with Microsoft Office programs, in particular Word, Excel, Outlook.
