OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:

Under the supervision of the Shelter Project Officer, the Cash for rent worker is responsible for implementing the cash for rent modality of HI’s Shelter response.

Responsibilities

 

Responsibility 1: Under the Shelter officer’s supervision, the Cash for rent implements the cash for rent modality of HI’s emergency Shelter response

Activities:            

  • Receive referrals from Shelter and Social workers within the Shelter team
  • Review referrals and contacting households eligible for the cash for rent program
  • Follow up on the administrative works related to the cash payments
  • Regularly report on the above activities (statistic, review monthly objectives, etc.) as per requests;

 

Responsibility 2: Data management, reporting and team collaboration

Activities:

  • Ensure data collected by Shelter team is accurate, complete and consistent;
  • Collect all the missing information
  • Range all the open files in order and respect confidentiality
  • Participate in the different activities that are common to all team members
  • Work in harmonic coordination with all teams members
  • Timely inform your line manager of your weekly needs and produce the related documentation
  • Close follow-up of individual and familial cases to ensure a qualitative follow-up of all the beneficiaries
  • Ensure internal standards and guidelines are respected
  • Fill daily with precision the internal reporting tools (weekly report) and any other reports to be made upon line manager request

 

Note that this job description must remain flexible, to respond to additional tasks or changes as identified by the line manager.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • University degree in shelter and protection social work or related degree
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in the related field with preference with NGO.
  • Demonstrate good understanding of social issues.
  • Understanding of a comprehensive approach on disability and vulnerability.
  • Proven coordination skills to work with a diverse network of actors, including the public authorities, in a diplomatic manner.
  • Good report writing skills.
  • Demonstrated effective communication, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to relate to the target group (be approachable, shows empathy).
  • Ability to propose workable solutions and identify their implications (positive and negative) adapted to beneficiaries’ needs.
  • English and Arabic mandatory (oral and written), French would be an asset.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, especially Excel, Word and Power Point.
  • Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills to manage a number of referral cases timely and accurately.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment and in a multidisciplinary teamwork.
  • Ability to work under high pressure with a great level of personal organization.

Basic salary range for the position : The cash for rent Worker is going to be paid according to HI salary Grid and based on the candidate experience.

Basic Salary range between USD 1330 – USD 1780
