Social Worker (5 vacancies)

General Purpose of the Position: The School Social Worker is the Focal Point for Protection.The Social Worker takes care of the psycho-social support for the children enrolled in the school. He/She reports to the Project Director and coordinates with the School Principal.

Main Responsibilities of the Position
 a-  Protection Focal Point

The Social Worker is the focal point for Child Protection in each activity he/she is assigned to and is responsible for the development and implementation of protection policies with special attention to school children.

Takes special care of vulnerable and high risk children, adolescents and adults among the people we serve.

Supports the Team in tasks related to all Protection Issues arising in the School and in Outreach.

 b-  Psychosocial Support

Provides basic counselling to less complex cases.

Facilitates access and referral for cases of trauma and high-risk to competent professionals.

Accompanies and collaborates with the Home Visits Team to reach out to the families of students.

Conduct Assessments and awareness sessions.

c-   Communication and Programming

Cultivates and facilitates contact with local organizations related to the position, in close collaboration with the Project Director.

Analyzes the needs of refugees and suggest new initiatives to the Project Director.

Elaborates an action plan, together with the Project Director and the other Social Workers of the schools, resulting from a needs assessment.

Ensure prompt execution of other tasks which are within the ambit of the position which may be requested by the Project Director as needs occur.

Relevant Experience

Minimum of 1-2 years of working with children.
Minimum of 1-2 years of casework.
Experience in working with refugees is a plus.
