Basic IT Trainer_ Tripoli

The overall objective of the project is Supporting Women Refugees and Host Community Nationals to respond to the Impact of the Syria Crisis through Economic Empowerment in the ICT Sector

 

The sub-objectives of the project are to:

  1. Organize training programmes to train Lebanese and non-Lebanese women in the ICT sector to provide an economic empowerment intervention
  2. Beneficiaries will gain valuable, market-relevant skills and work experience which increases their chance of employment, financial autonomy, stability and self-reliance.

This document with its below sections provides the relevant information needed for the completion of the services requested from the Contractor within the framework of the Basic IT training. The Contractor shall work as a Basic IT trainer – preferable a women – for ACTED over the course of 3 months, starting on September, 2020 and finishing latest on December 31st, 2020. This Terms of Reference covers the period from mid-September – December 31. 

 

Objective 1. Deliver the ICT curriculum with a close collaboration with ACTED

  • The trainer shall work closely with ACTED on creating a curriculum for a basic IT training for women with a home based business skills
  • The trainer shall design and develop subjects that cover the women’s market demand to increase their niche market and their chance of generating an income business
  • The contractor shall into consideration that the basic IT training targets mainly Absolute beginners

Objective 2. Deliver Basic IT training

  • The trainer will provide 90 hours of the basic IT training in Arabic Language for 20 women
  • The trainer shall work closely with ACTED on submitting a detailed work plan of training modules and training programmes schedules.
  • The trainer shall submit data of the pre and post-tests along with the grades to ACTED one week after the training is complete.
  • The trainer shall be responsible for training documents such as attendance sheets, pre post-tests
  •  
  • Seek feedback from participants to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of the training.
  • The Trainer shall attend the entire contract period:
    •  The Training would run over 4 days of the week, with 4 hours per day, in the morning or after noon
    • The trainer would finalize the Training across a period of 10 weeks for a total of 90 hours.
  • Provide samples of Training books/material for distribution if needed
  • Certification of graduation developed with close collaboration with ACTED, based on attendance and learning (measured against an entry and exit test)
  • Training hours must be decided in consultation with interested beneficiaries to maximize attendance and avoid drop outs
  • The content of the services required from ACTED are described herein:
  • Monitor and supervise the work of the trainer and review progress of the work.
  • Provide inputs to questionnaire for pre-test and post-test assessments as well as to training modules.
  • Provide technical assistance / implementation assistance/ feedback as necessary
  • Ensure payment of agreed amount. Payment will be linked to successful delivery of outputs as per ACTED rules and regulations.

  • Pre and Post training tests:

    The trainer will be developing a pre tests to determine the level of knowledge and skills of the trainee’s. The same test which is the posttest, will be administered following the last training session to the beneficiaries and will help measure the change in information retention and skills’ acquisition. The test will be reviewed and approved by ACTED before being conducted to the trainees, and the corrected forms should be handed to the senior Livelihood officer one week after it’s done. The Trainer is expected to have a copy of them as a data collection and analyze the results to draft a training report two weeks after the last training session.

    The pre and post-test time is excluded from the training hours.

  • A training report including the results of pre- and post-tests of each trainee with a baseline and an end-line score, and individual recommendations on areas for improvement.
  • Digital photos of the training sessions submitted to ACTED
