1.  Project Background

USAID’s Community Support Program (CSP) in Lebanon is an $80 million program designed to provide a broad range of support to underserved and vulnerable communities. CSP seeks to improve the delivery of essential services and enhance economic opportunities in order to improve lives and reduce tensions that contribute to conflict and violence, primarily in Lebanon’s North, South, and Beqaa Valley regions. CSP uses a fast, flexible, and participatory approach to address needs in Lebanon’s most underserved and vulnerable communities in response to evolving political, security, economic, and environmental conditions. To achieve its objectives, CSP is partnering with municipalities, regional water establishments (RWEs), civil society organizations (CSOs), educational and training institutions, and the private sector to implement activities organized around four components: community support projects, technical assistance and capacity building, workforce development, and wastewater management.

2.  Summary of Position

The Graphic Design and Videographer Associate is a member of CSP’s communications and outreach team. They will be responsible for creating engaging, attractive, and branded communications such as videos, printed materials, posters, social media sharables, etc.

3.  Specific Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Conceptualize, create, and edit graphics that can be used as printable materials or on CSP’s digital platforms, to communicate key messages related to implementation
  • Capture photographs and video that will help to showcase the activities and impact of CSP, with particular focus on women, youth, and other vulnerable groups
  • Conduct field site visits to document ongoing and completed activities
  • Subtitle video and other media for outreach purposes
  • Using content from technical assistance interventions, assist in the implementation of the CSP’s overall Communication and Outreach Plan
  • Provide branding support as needed and in line with USAID graphic guidelines
  • Support the Communications team in organizing, maintaining, and safeguarding CSP’s communication material library including, videos, photos, reports, etc.
  • Contribute to CSP reporting requirements and deliverables, such as weekly reports, quarterly reports, and success stories
  • Undertake other duties as assigned by the Director of Communications and Outreach.

4.  Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in graphics and videography
  • Experience with USAID-funded programs preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (and specifically Indesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop)
  • Knowledge of video production and/or HTML5, CSS3, and Javascript
  • A portfolio with a variety of samples required, including samples of infographics and data visualizations
  • Ability to work independently, as well as within a large, fast-paced team with proven interpersonal skills
  • Experience overseeing printing of marketing materials
  • Proficient written and spoken English and Arabic required

5.  Place of Assignment

The Graphics and Videography Associate will be based in the program’s office space in Beirut and will be expected to travel to areas of operation throughout the country as needed. Note: this position will be offered through Chemonics International Inc. or our partner, Quantum Communications. Additional details will be determined and communicated during the candidate interview stage.

6.  Reporting

The Graphics and Videography Associate will report directly to the CSP Director of Communications and Outreach.
