Communications Assistant

Major Responsibilities

Communications Resources

• Travel frequently to field sites to pro-actively and re-actively obtain and pitch resources.
• Gather and prepare communication materials for input into the document management software and online photo database.
• Work closely with the Communications Officer to film, edit and produce video stories and updates.
• Contribute to fundraising materials (e.g. gift handles, direct marketing resources, thank-you videos).
• Support in gathering specific resources for global and regional initiatives and projects, the year-end campaign, events, or fundraising pushes.
• Draft and edit materials for social media.

Media and Public Relations

• Help in brainstorming and developing public relations and promotional materials about the programme.
• Support the Communications Officer in preparing, organising, and leading field visits of high-profile visitors, photographers, journalists, or media crews.
• Propose stories, press statements and news items according to the brand and media communication guidelines

Internal Communication

• Contribute to internal communication by providing frequent updates from the field visits
• Assist with developing project updates and overview documents

Brand and co-branding Coordination

• Help raise awareness about appropriate branding in team trainings and meetings; ensure that Medair staff, facilities and equipment have access to appropriate Medair branded items.

Ensure proper field visibility and promote brand image.
