Arz Ehmej Conservation Park Manager

I. INTRODUCTION

NGO's Background Information

The Lebanon Reforestation Initiative (LRI) is a Lebanese NGO registered at the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities under no. 1186 on 18 June 2014. LRI started as a project launched in 2010 by the United States Forest Service (USFS) Office of International Programs (IP) through the support and funding of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). 

LRI has signed an MOU with Ehmej Municipality to support in the management of Arz Ehmej, the ecotourism/conservation area in Ehmej.

II. PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

LRI seeks a full-time Conservation Park Manager who will be in charge of managing all aspects of Arz Ehmej Conservation Park, including lodging, food and beverage management, Human Resources, housekeeping, attractions, and guest services. In addition to managing the park's employees, finances, customer service, promotions, and quality control. 

The Conservation Park Manager is expected to perform the following duties:

1. Daily Operations, Financial, and Marketing Responsibilities:

• Managing daily operations of the F&B outlet, lodging and attractions.
• Overseeing product stocking and managing stock.
• Monitoring the park’s accounting transactions, payroll, customer billing, and expense accounts.
• Developing and implementing marketing and communication strategy and plan for the park including new attraction developments, marketing campaigns, social media calendar, developing new sales channels etc.
• Managing assets, inventory and maintenance of the park, including contacting providers to perform needed maintenance and operational services.
• Ensuring that all supplies, from housekeeping materials to furniture, are in good condition and in stock.
• Conducting room, kitchen, grounds inspections and security monitoring.

2. Customer Services Responsibilities:

• Greeting guests at arrival, creating standards surveys, and finding acceptable solutions to problems that may arise.
• Ensuring positive customer experiences by maintaining high-quality facilities.
• Networking to be well-informed of local happenings to book tours or recommend activities to guests unfamiliar with the area.
• Coordinating functions or events for the guests.

3. Human Resources Responsibilities:

• Hiring, training, and scheduling new staff members.
• Maintaining employee records and dismissing ineffective employees.
• Setting goals for employees and supporting staff achieve these goals.
• Scheduling and leading staff meetings to regularly communicate with the staff and to ensure that all departments are meeting the park’s standards.

III. REQUIREMENTS

The Conservation Park Manager should possess the following competencies, skills, and experience:​​​​​​​

• A degree in Hospitality Management or Rural Tourism Management.
• At least 10 years of experience in managing hotels, parks, resorts.
• Rural Tourism background is a plus.
• Skills in critical thinking, coordination, problem solving, observation and attention to details, time management and persuasion.
• Social awareness.
• Good and efficient communication.
