Translator/ Proofreader

General objective of the job

 

The Translator/Proofreader is responsible to go over and proofread CSI Manuals in Arabic, and check their compatibility with the English version.

 

Position in the organisation

 

The Translator/Proofreader is part of the CSI team reporting to the Research Coordinator and the Research Implementation Coordinator.

S/he does not manage staff.

 

Result areas

 

  • CSI Manuals are available in English and Arabic. The proofreader needs to go over and proofread CSI Manuals in Arabic, and check their compatibility with the English version.

 

Coordination and Support

 

  • S/he will receive all the necessary documents and support from the RC and RIC.

 

Knowledge and Experience

 

Bachelor or equivalent degree in English/Arabic literature, or translation.

At least one year of experience in translation.

Basic knowledge of child development.

Ready to do a short proofreading test online

 

Skills and Competencies

 

Fluency in Arabic and English

Flexibility

Cultural sensitivity

Familiarity with psychosocial programming;

Positive, respectful attitude and collaborative approach.

Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with team members;

Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Word

 

Timeline

 

Contract duration: 1-month part-time

Required Starting Date: ASAP

Duty Station: Beirut
