On 04 August 2020, an explosion at the Port of Beirut took place which resulted in Level 1 damage to an estimated 29,771 apartments (62% of the overall number of apartments in Beirut), Level 2 damage to 17,100 apartments (35%), and Level 3 damage to 1,144 apartments (3%). Level 1 damages present minor damages to property, such as broken glass and/or doors, locks, or collapse of false ceiling. There are no structural damages in this level. The shelter remains habitable by the family with no or minor compromises on safety, security and access to services, including water, sanitation and electricity. Level 2 damages present moderate damages to property with no structural damage. In this level the household is either not habitable and/or habitable with safety and security of the premises significantly compromised. Services including water, sanitation and electricity are not or may be only partly accessible. The blast comes at a time when the country is facing a financial crisis and an economic collapse while equally combating the spread of COVID-19.

The UN Partner Portal has replaced UNHCR Partner Portal. Organizations that are already registered on the UNHCR Partner Portal may use the same credentials to log in to the new UN Partner Portal.
All submissions and annexes must be submitted in English through the UN Partner Portal: https://www.unpartnerportal.org. If applicants are not able to complete the Portal registration process by the submission deadline, submissions via email will not be accepted. Therefore all applicants are urged to initiate and finalize the portal registration requirements at the earliest possible in order to avoid any issues.
Attention: The UN Partner Portal allows an upload of only one file. Therefore for submissions with several documents, place all documents in a folder, zip the folder and upload the zipped file.
