Warehouse Assistant

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Reports to: Supply chain Officer

 

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTIBILITY:

- Help in the procurement of items (stationary, kitchen and cleaning supplies)

- Load and unload goods from delivery vans

- check that the correct quantity and type of goods have been received

- Record any damaged, missing or faulty goods

- Sign the delivery form, once satisfied that the goods are complete

- Move the goods to the correct area in the warehouse, either manually or using mechanical handling equipment

- keep records of goods, their location and quantity

- Label goods

- Coordinate office logistics.

- Liaise with manufacturers, distributors

- Assist in archiving (soft and hard)

- Report all technical problems, breakdowns and service requirements to the supply chain team.

- Report all accidents in line with local Fleet Policy.

- Provide on-time, standard monthly reports to the supply chain officer, including fuel consumption report, maintenance report and any other related reports.

- comply with security procedures and health & safety

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Relevant university degree or technical diplomas 
  • At least 3 years relevant field experience in logistics management, procurement, compliance, and finance procedures, preferably with humanitarian or development organizations
  • Ability to write narrative and produce analytical spread sheet reports.
  • Proven computer literacy in MS Word, MS Excel MS Outlook and related programs required.
  • Spoken and written fluency in English and Arabic essential.
  • Willingness to put in extra hours as required.
  • Ability to pay support visits on the field in isolated areas.
