Field Officer

The Field Officer reports directly to the Project Manager and is responsible for on ground activities of The Nawaya Network, the implementing partner of the Local Economic Development (LED) Project, with the following responsibilities:
 

Field Work Tasks:

  • Conducts outreach and gives info sessions about Nawaya's training and incubation programs in North East Bekaa

  • Assists in preparing all training content and allocation of materials such as stationary, supplies, M&E forms, and certificates when needed prior to training sessions

  • Oversees training sessions, takes attendance, and relays each upcoming issue to the Project Manager

  • Supports Training and Incubation with any participants-related problems that may arise and follows up with them 

  • Assists particpants in the field when purchasing items for their projects which will be taken more thoroughly with coaches in the incubation stage

  • Organizes and chairs peer-to-peer meetings

  • Assists beneficiaries when brought together for mentorship events, peer-to-peer sessions, exhibitions, fundraisers, and public events

  • Liaises with educational institutions and existing businesses to identify booster training and internships or job shadowing opportunities for the creation of the Business Support Specialists

  • Creates WhatsApp groups (or any other means of communication as found convenient) for farmers to enhance communication to reach 1000 farmers from the target villages and identifies key farmers to mobilize others in sharing information, organizing events and meetings relevant to production, aggregation or marketing issues

  • Coordinates partners activities at field level and provides technical support

Communications-related Tasks:

  • Forms connections with the youth to identify support needs, referrals, and stories for Comms, and gives general information updates on the youth for the purpose of having success stories "made available"
  • Assists Beneficiaries Support and Communications with qualitative data throughout each phase of Nawaya's implementation, especially human-interest stories and success stories

  • Provides support for Comms in events in the preparation part and on the day of the event

  • Ensures banners at events, ensure photos are taken and reminds Comms to post them accordingly

Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Tasks:

  • Distributes all M&E documents to beneficiaries and carefully checks if they were properly and effectively filled and integrated on the System before delivering them to M&E Officers in an organized and deadline-oriented manner
  • Maintains effective and close communication with M&E Officers to report and explain any delays, missing data, discrepancies, etc. well in advance of M&E reporting deadlines

 

Implements any additional tasks as communicated by Project Manager and Program Director.

 Experience:

  • At least 3 years working experience in the field, preferably in the rural areas
  • Agriculture Experience is mandatory
  • Coaching experience is a plus/ NGO Experience is a plus
