The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is a non-governmental, humanitarian organization with 60 years of experience in helping to create a safer and more dignified life for refugees and internally displaced people. NRC advocates for the rights of displaced populations and offers assistance within the shelter, education, emergency food security, legal assistance, and water, sanitation and hygiene sectors.
Activities Overview/Summary:
The main purpose of the Finance Volunteer is to assist the finance team in the daily scanning, paper work and any other task that might be needed to support the team to reach full efficiency.
Activities:
- Review financial transactions to ensure all supporting documents are in Line with NRC procedures
- Scan financial transactions, upload to Office 365, organize in folders and archive as per NRC securing supporting documentation Policy
- Conduct hard copy filling for all payments and financial transactions as required. Ensure proper labelling and organising
- Perform any other related tasks that might be assigned in relation to the day-to-day needs of the finance department including copying, preparing payments or others.
Qualifications and Relevant Skills:
- Bachelor Degree in Finance, accounting or similar
- Fluent in English and Arabic, both spoken and written
- Previous experience in finance or accounting is a plus
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Proficient in MS Office applications including Word, Excel and Office 365
- Ability to work systematically and in an organized manner
