Child Friendly Space (CFS) Educator

Mission of the Position:

Under the SOS Lebanon 20a Emergency Relief Project, the Child Friendly Space (CFS) educator appointed to work within the Emergency Response program will work closely with the project coordinator, social workers, psychologists, and recreational team at the CFS to provide educational support to children during basic academic sessions and psychosocial/ recreational activities.

Key performance areas and main responsibilities:

- Supporting the ER Program Coordinator in developing schedule of activities in CFS

- Designing and conducting age appropriate educational sessions for children

- Ensuring children are provided with basic academic support (reading, writing, math), integrated within logical, social, educational activities

- Planning and coordinating activities and support sessions with CFS team, and informing team members of their shifts/ schedules

- Using case management approach to discuss problematic areas (learning/ concentration difficulties, symptoms of trauma, mental health issues, neglect or abuse, among others) with CFS psychologist and ER social workers

-  Informing parents of schedule of activities, and building healthy relationship with children’s families

- Keeping records of needed supplies/ educational material in CFS and coordinating orders with ER finance officer and ER program coordinator
- Ensuring safety measures are implemented in CFS, including appropriate COVID measures
