Nursery Expert Trainer

In addition to the above, AND work towards including men engagement component within skills building activities. That being said, AND is seeking the expertise of a professional nursery worker to train male participants on planting and nursery basics/ process over a total of 12 hours spread according to the trainers and participants’ convenience. Yet, to be completed over a maximum of two weeks period. Training should cover the following:

• Promote basics of small-scale planting and nursery process
• How to plant grow, water, transplant, shrubs and trees
• Determine the environmental condition and types of plant they can grow respectively (for optimum growth and development)
• Maintain quality of greenery
• Perform basic maintenance such as cutting the grass, emptying bins, managing weed control and leaf raking.
• How to Work with hand tools and basic light machinery.
• Use of pesticides including but not limited to safe handling, storage and disposal process
• Prepare a maintenance plan to identify and control insects’ rodents, birds, weeds and diseases.
• Use of proper irrigation system.

The trainer shall demonstrate the following:

• Prior knowledge of planting and nursery work.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; must be personable and diplomatic in working with a diverse range of people.
• Communicate information with enthusiasm, clarity and patience.
• Ability to demonstrate, and communicate techniques clearly.
• Adherence to the recommendations of world health organization with respect to COVID-19 safety and precautions.
• Abiding to AND’s internal rules regulations

The Trainer shall be responsible for the following deliverables.

• Preparation of Workshop Agenda, schedule, content material.
• Creating an interactive session, variety of training methods/means used throughout the workshop (Power point presentations, videos, forms, exercises)
• Providing an Appraisal of participants and overall training flow, best practices and rooms for improvement in addition to follow up recommendations.

Reporting
