Expected timeframe of the employment: January 2021 – July 2021 // 7 months

Type of employment: Part time consultancy depending on the job tasks

About the project and the position

A consortium of six organizations, including Médecins du Monde (MdM), Skoun, Abaad, Amel, Embrace and Humanity and Inclusion (HI), along with National Mental Health Program (NMHP), supported by the Agence Francaise de Development (AFD), aims to improve the opportunities for individuals living in Lebanon to enjoy the best possible mental health and wellbeing. The consortium is looking for an Editor, to be employed on a consultancy basis, who will be able to write communication material accessible to all the general public including newsletters, articles in media platforms, website update, social media content, etc. This would be on needs basis and not fixed

 

Tasks and duties

The editors’ responsibilities include:

  • Writing documents, articles, press releases, etc.,
  • Summarizing written materials,
  • Correcting manuscripts,
  • Writing reports,
  • Proofreading, editing and re-writing articles,
  • Producing customized content for all our platforms, including our website, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram,
  • Producing well-researched content for publication online and in print, and
  • Organizing writing schedules to complete drafts of content or finished projects within deadlines.

 

Deliverables

  • Documents completed upon each task
  • Timesheet
  • Progress report

 

Education, experience and relevant skills

  • BSc in English, Creative Writing, Journalism or related field,
  • Proven work experience as an editor or similar role for at least 5 years,
  • Proven record of excellent writing demonstrated in a professional portfolio,
  • Excellent command of grammar,
  • Excellent verbal communication skills,
  • Time-management skills, including the ability to keep to tight deadlines,
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with different objectives simultaneously, and
  • Reliability and accountability.
